Ray Swanson

Director - Student Housing

Mr. Swanson is a Director of Kayne Anderson Capital Advisors and head of student housing investments for the firm's real estate private equity activities. Mr. Swanson is responsible for the origination, analysis, and execution of real estate investments in the off-campus student housing and campus retail sectors.

Prior to joining Kayne Anderson in 2007, Mr. Swanson worked closely with Mr. Rabil at Rabil Properties, where Mr. Swanson had direct responsibility for analyzing and closing over $200 million in off-campus student housing investments. Earlier in his career, Mr. Swanson provided project management expertise to developers and general contractors, specializing in the adaptive reuse and historic preservation of urban core properties.

Mr. Swanson earned a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from The Pennsylvania State University in 1976 and a Masters of Historic Preservation from the University of Maryland in 2004.
